Military brat (14th generation American) with unassuaged wanderlust. By age 11, schools in four states and three foreign countries (in 3 languages). Left home at 17. Degree from top-five US university. After two years service to my country, PhD and post-docs in top-twenty international universities. Since then, professional scientist/consultant, including with three Nobel Prize winners, in four states and five foreign countries. Spent time in another 30 countries throughout Europe, Asia, Mideast and Oceania (ahora busco algo interesante en America Latina!), partly in projects aiding poorer countries. Fully trilingual in three of the five langauges I have learned. Value highly tolerance, respect towards others and adore learning from human diversity. Detest "religious" fanaticism and "superpatriotism" as two of the worst historical and current malignancies of mankind.

Hobbies / Interests

Tennis and surfing are current passions. Detest professional sports circuses. Can't imagine living without an ocean, beach, fine fish and fresh shellfish nearby. Love living in 'old' city centers without a car (walk 2-3 miles/day since selling my last car 8 years ago). Now mostly abstemious, but a fine duero, SA shiraz, WA verdelho, manzanilla, pinot grigio or oloroso are hard to resist. Read a book/week in any of three languages and wish I could read more in their original language.
