My father passed away in a Veteran's hospital at Christmas recently. I walked outside and the red brick building was decorated with greenery, white lights, and red ribbons--so beautiful in the falling snow--and I was suddenly overcome with grief.

A small crowd of disabled vets came over to me and put their arms around me and each other and just spent a few minutes with me. They were mostly World War II and Korean War vets using walkers and canes. I'll never forget them or their service to our country.

Give thanks to all who have given their lives in service to our great nation. Freedom is not free.

I was trying to add the 2 sentences above, on here earlier, but propeller wouldn't allow it. That's why it shows as spam.
