first of all, i've always like jon stewart. i've enjoyed his show for many years -- especially when dissent was in so much demand during the bush/cheney junta. and i don't particularly like beck. but after watching this egregious mockery of beck's 9/12 special, then i, personally, became inflamed.

Although, I can see how this panders to his target audience -- those on the left who believe the anti status-quo conservatives are just a bunch of racist, whack-job, tea-bagging, nutters...
Underneath the snickering guffaws at beck, was also an attack on the anti-big government message.
Again, I think Beck has done nothing good by co-opt the movement, and hasn't helped in any way except to alienate it by association. But, if he does deserve any grief, then it certainly shouldn't come for speaking out against big government with his 9/12 message.-

And you don't think that Beck's 9/12 "movement" isn't a mockery? it is in every sense of the term. It's an attempt to emotionalize an issue to the point where logic and reason become the voices of insanity. It's an attempt to use the emotional turmoil that we felt as a nation on 9/11 to disable the efforts of decent Americans who believe that sometimes the government has to step in to tell people what to do because they can not or will not do it for themselves.

Beck is everything that is worst about the tea-bag conservatives. He panders to the lowest common denominator of emotional, visceral response as a means to an end. It's disgusting and I'm personally proud of Jon Stewart for showing Beck up for the charlatan he is.
Now, I hope Mr. Beck is feeling better and recovers fully from his appendicitis. Although it isn't as dangerous as it used to be, it can still be life threatening. -

I think Stewart's crying lacked sincerity, he should put vicks under his eyes like Beck does.
