I hadn't even read the story yet and somehow I knew I'd find or hear about people claiming Obama didn't denounce it loudly enough. "He called it a 'tradgedy' HE'S SYMPATHETIC... he should have said 'horrible disaster'" There's no pleasing these ********

During Obama's speech, he mentioned following up with investigators to see "what led to this terrible crime". He also stated that we "can't fully know what leads a man to do such a thing".
Reply
What he didn't mention was that the murderer was a devout Muslim. Of course, I'm sure he didn't mention it because he truly believes that the murderers Islamic convictions had nothing at all to do with this attack, and his investigation won't even consider that possibility.-

I would say that it is more likely that religion was not mentioned due to the fact that there are enough bigots out there such as yourself . From what I see of the reports there are some saying that he was yelling God is great in Arabic, but there are more saying he said nothing at all. What would your reaction be if this person had been a Christian like McVeigh?
Reply
Religion does not commit anything, the people do. This was a person that was obviously disturbed, and no other person can ever know fully what happens in another's mind. You don't know everything that I am thinking, I don't know everything you are thinking. They can find where people missed things that should have been seen though. Another case of learning from the mistakes rather than just calling names and offering no real solutions.

Many of us believe in religious tolerance, whether or not we believe in religion.

I found the fact that President Obama did not become overly emotional to be refreshing, from the standpoint that.

We have enough hatred of the Muslims in this nation already.
Should we hate what is not as we believe, or should we just continue to Love. Knowing that God in His infinite wisdom will
render judgement as He will. Not as we will.
What some find as weakness, I see as strength. -

It was reported by the evil FNC that ex President Bush and his wife visited the shooting site today with out press coverage and, by FNC accounts, appeared to be gravely concerned.
Reply
0Bama is reportedly flying to Ft Hood this weekend sometime.
Is The 0 Man being less emotional than he should be? Good question.
However as things stand now the Body Count from the Ft Hood Shootings is at 10+ dead, with the possibility of that number increasing in the near future, and 30+ wounded with 'the shooter' in a coma.
The all important health care bill of 0Bama is again in Congressional debate with some 'knowledgeable individuals' thinking it will be delayed until next year.
So the question for us all becomes which is more important; the shattered lives at Fort Hood or a possible vote on Health Care Reform.-

mr bush is no longer president of the united states.
Reply
mr bush didn't worry about health care for americans when he was potus, so it isn't a consideration for him now. after all, he has his, paid for by the taxpayer, until the day he dies.
mr. bush was the governor of the state of texas; he has claimed the state as his own, although he was born in connecticut. the potus has a full plate, and addressed the events (murders, slaughter, choose your noun, it was a terrible event) in this national radio address, as well as several other occasions.
there are millions of people without health care in this country; it's 16% of the US economy, when it should be a secondary component. the protus has stated his support for the troops, but he has to pursue a strategic agenda, as opposed to flying off to hug people, like mr. bush did after katrina. if you want to say that you oppose this decision, that's your right, but don't try to make it a political issue.
are you going to judge him negatively because he didn't use this as a photo op, or would you have called it a photo op had he gone to ft. hood, and said he should have been paying attention to the running of the natioin? or wiull you say it's all in how you choose to portray it. there are those who, under any circumstance, will spin it negatively, and vice versa.
you can't please everybody, apparently.
it's going to be voted on the house this weekend; it may have already happened. i don't know, i was ooc for a bit. it's the senate that may be the source of the delay.
yes, there are several hundred people devastated, but as i said above, there are millions who can't get grief counseling, let alone basic medical care.

It's incredible that Obama is being criticized for not going immediately to Ft. Hood, after the tragedy has already happened and there is nothing left to do but investigate and clean up the mess. He's compared to Bush, who apparently showed up right away out of concern and respect for the military, I assume.
Reply
Yet when Bush was the President and people were actively in danger, drowning in New Orleans and pleading for help with banners and flags waving from rooftops reading HELP US and SAVE US....Bush went to California instead of New Orleans and played air guitar for a crowd of spectators. He didn't show up until after it was over and his supporters saw nothing wrong with that. Even though his presence would have made the difference for thousands of people in need of immediate help.
Now, these same people criticize the delay by Obama going to Ft. Hood, when his presence would do nothing to save anyone there..the tragedy is already over. Yes, he needs to go, but time is no longer of the essence as it was for Bush during the Katrina disaster.
Does anyone else see the hypocrisy here?-

I don't see it, epiphannyy.

I see insanity .
These people are obsessed;
They criticized the prez for going to europe to lobby for the olympics,
then denounced him for not going to europe to celebrate the
end of the berlin wall,
They sneered at him for not going to Ft. Hood;
- then criticised him for going.
They make no sense; nor intend any point
other than "die Obama die!".
Really, it astonishes, how they can be so crazy
and yet remain so godawful boring.
